Another year of growth at Salo IoT Campus

26.6.2024

The real estate investment company Salo IoT Park Ltd continues its steady growth. Both revenue, operating profit, and occupancy rates have increased from the previous year.

The year 2023 was another successful year for Salo IoT Campus in its sixth full year of operation, surpassing €7 million in revenue. Operating profit also continued to grow. Currently, the campus hosts approximately 2,200 employees with over 700 students enrolled. Additionally, 30 people reside at Varha Campus Home Merihelmi.

The current year has also started positively. "New lease agreements are being made at a steady pace. For example, in April, the campus population increased practically overnight by over 200 when LEDiL and Varha social services moved onto the campus. With these agreements, our occupancy rate rose above 60%," said Atte Köykkä, CEO of Salo IoT Campus.

There are still available spaces on the campus. Apart from office spaces, there are vacant laboratory spaces and specialized areas such as data centers and measurement rooms. Large leases generally require investments, but according to Köykkä, the company and its owners are committed to developing the campus. The campus's operations and services are also continually being improved. For instance, the new Factory restaurant opened in the Kuutio building in March has received positive feedback and attracted new lunch guests from outside the campus. Last year, an energy efficiency agreement was also signed, committing Salo IoT Campus to reduce its emissions by 2025.

Despite the increasing prevalence of remote work leading many companies to reduce their office spaces, Köykkä remains confident about the future of Salo IoT Campus. "Our goal is to create a campus where employees want to come to work daily. This benefits companies in multiple ways. They get flexible spaces tailored to their needs and satisfied employees who are eager to come to work locally - job satisfaction and efficiency increase."

Customer satisfaction at the heart of operations

In addition to the company's financial figures, the latest customer satisfaction survey results from the campus also reflect success. The Net Promoter Score (NPS) among client company employees significantly increased from last year, now standing at 66. Among all respondents to the survey, 70% were promoters. "Based on the responses, our clients particularly appreciate the campus's friendly and helpful staff, functional services, events organized by the campus, and community spirit. These are exactly the aspects we aim to emphasize in our operations," Köykkä concludes.
