Salon Artists' Association and Salo IoT Campus have agreed on an art exhibition collaboration. In the future, the campus will host exhibitions by members of the Salon Artists' Association 3-4 times a year in rotating displays.
The collaboration begins with a joint exhibition titled "Matkalla" ("On the Journey"), featuring seven members, which opened on Thursday, October 12. The "Matkalla" exhibition will be on display at the campus until January 27, 2024. The artists featured in the inaugural exhibition are Gloria Badarau-Heikkilä, Helena Hauta-aho, Anna-Maija Junnila, Jaana Kähönen, Hilkka Laakkonen-Vesander, Hannu Nikander, and Tarja Seewald. The artworks include traditional oil paintings, watercolors, sculptures, and digitally processed photographs. Works from the exhibition are available for purchase directly from the artists.
Background of the "Matkalla" Exhibition:
We are all constantly on a journey somewhere and always slightly unfinished - whether it's a journey to a different culture or environment, a journey through time to the past, or a personal journey of human or professional development. Each person's journey is unique depending on our past experiences and how we approach things. The artworks in the exhibition depict these journeys from various perspectives, interpreted freely by the artists.
