Salo IoT Campus community is growing - LEDiL moves to Salo IoT Campus

24.10.2023

Salo IoT Campus and LEDiL have signed a long-term lease agreement for office and laboratory spaces that will be renovated for LEDiL.

LEDiL, a Salo-based company specializing in LED optics, will be moving to Salo IoT Campus during spring 2024. The leased spaces are being customized according to the company's needs and preferences. Renovation works for the new offices and laboratory spaces are currently underway.

LEDiL's financial and operational director Jan Pettersson highlights that the company expects more efficient use of space from the office spaces being completed on the third floor of the Kiila building. "Our current premises no longer fully serve their purpose; currently, our units are quite separate from each other. The new spaces are designed to support collaboration between units," he explains. The growing popularity of hybrid working is also reflected in the layout of the new office: it will be a multi-space office where square meters are used efficiently.

In addition to the new premises, Pettersson believes that moving to Salo IoT Campus will benefit the company in various ways. "In addition to suitable spaces, the move to Salo IoT Campus was supported by the comprehensive and diverse services available on campus, which benefit both the company and its employees," Pettersson says.

Salo IoT Campus's CEO Atte Köykkä is pleased with the new lease agreement with LEDiL. "The agreement with LEDiL includes not only office space but also a significant laboratory space in the first floor of Kiila. Extensive renovations are underway in the space before occupancy, utilizing existing structures such as measurement rooms. It's great to see how even specialized spaces left vacant by Nokia find new purpose and users over time," Köykkä says.

Köykkä is also optimistic about the future. "Despite the general challenges in the construction and real estate sector, the future of Salo IoT Campus looks stable, and I see the campus's growth story continuing in the coming years. With the increase in hybrid work, our communal campus can provide new types of added value to employees of companies, which is clearly appreciated," Köykkä concludes.
