Joining the campus community is easy and flexible, thanks to the new Siilo coworking space.
A new coworking space called Siilo (Finnish for ‘silo’) has opened its doors in Salo IoT Campus. Working in Siilo is possible without pre-booking by purchasing a day pass, but monthly membership, fixed desk, or office options are also available.
“Coworking is a flexible way to work in Salo IoT Campus. Everything you need for an efficient workday is on hand, and at the same time, you are a part of our active campus community”, says Jukka Vakula, CEO of Salo IoT Campus.
The new coworking space is located at the heart of Salo IoT Campus, in the second floor of the building Centro. In addition to 45 hot desks, Siilo offer eight private offices, conference rooms, a couple of telephone booths, a small cafeteria, a billiard table, and a separate lounge area for those wanting a more casual work station.
Student entrepreneurs from Turku University of Applied Sciences’ BusinessAcademy partner Salo IoT Campus in the marketing of the new coworking space. Siilo is marketed particularly to remote workers who need a flexible workstation from time to time, but a social coworking space next to campus services could be a tempting option also for entrepreneurs and people working alone.
“Ease of working is Siilo’s biggest advantage. Anyone can just arrive to the campus’ lobby, purchase an affordable day membership, and start working. The only thing you need is your own computer – everything else, like Wi-Fi and printers, are available in Siilo”, says Vakula.
